News, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
Ah, those yuksters at Rare are at it again. After teasing fans only a month ago with Killer Instinct themed Piñata Vision cards, now they've gone and dropped pure fanboy flamebait into Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Note the image above, in which sequels to several favorite (and not so favorite) Rare franchises are mentioned, including Killer Instinct, Jet Force Gemeni, Battletoads, and Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Now, we could live without most of them (okay, technically we could live without all of them), but we have to admit a new Battletoads would be more than welcome. Unfortunately, the text itself is relatively clear, the sequels are mentioned merely as a joke. Unless, of course, a sequel to an old franchise counts as Rare's upcoming " surprise." We're not holding our breath. [Via Joystiq] Battletoads and Killer Instinct jokes in Nuts & Bolts originally appeared on Xbox 360 Fanboy on Mon, 17 Nov 2008 14:45:00 EST. News, Xbox Live Marketplace
As promised, the classic and wicked cricket Zapper has made its way to the Xbox Live Marketplace as a 1200 Microsoft point Xbox Original title. Blitz Games' 599MB Zapper includes eighteen levels spread across four worlds with one final boss that's oh so intimidatingly named Maggie. Exciting stuff. Warning to those who love themselves scrolling credits, because Microsoft warns that the Xbox Originals version of Zapper suffers from "minor graphical corruption occurs in the End Credits" which "causes some of the end credits to appear cut off." End credits being cut off? Seriously, what has the world come to?

News, Gears of War 2 After hearing the community's complaints and general negative feedback regarding the long wait times experienced during Gears of War 2 matchmaking, Epic's Rod Fergusson addressed the issues over on the official Epic forums. Sadly, there is no hard fix in place. Fergusson wants the Gears community to know that the long wait times experienced in matchmaking are limited in scale (riiiiiight) and that Epic is working with Microsoft to speed things up. While they figure out the mess, we're given a few tips to improve the matchmaking experience, including: restart the search, avoid 1 and 4 person parties, and (our favorite) skip the whole matchmaking mess and host custom games. With a frown on our face, we await a Gears of War 2 patch ... Epic addresses Gears of War 2 matchmaking hiccups, still no fix originally appeared on Xbox 360 Fanboy on Mon, 17 Nov 2008 17:30:00 EST. News, Gears of War 2
A mysterious set of Gears of War 2 screenshots recently made their way online and look to be pictures of a never before seen multiplayer map that could release as new downloadable content.
The nine screenshots ( galleried below) show what look to be a multiplayer map that is surrounded by gorgeous yellow imulsion. And from what we can tell, the screens seem legit and one could easily speculate we'll be receiving some multiplayer map DLC in the near future. Then again, if you didn't expect Gears 2 DLC, you'd be one silly Locust Wretch. |

Talking to MTV Multiplayer, Lips creator and Inis developer Keiichi Yano mentioned that the Lips accelerometer microphone will not work with any other music games at launch, but is optimistic that it'll be compatible with other titles in the future.
"It's not something we can do, obviously [the games would require a patch]. I mean, I hope so for Rock Band, Guitar Hero. It won't work out of the box but it's relatively easy to kind of get it going." So, the light up Lips microphone and its compatibility with other musical titles lies in both Harmonix and Activision's hands. They'd have to release patches for their games which we think they totally should. Everyone pretty much agrees that the wireless Lips microphones are teh sexy and teh awesomez.
